Stephen I AM ALWAYS a little dubious about restaurants with perspex advertising stands on their tables. Delicatessen Corner had two per table, one publicising mineral water and the second wine specials. I also think it is curious to have an eating place serving German sausages of various sorts in one of the more distant parts of the Far East. Still, they came, and I found both the moderately priced butcher?s platter ($115) and a main course of Nuernberger sausages (four long ones, $98) filling, tasty and near enough to the authentic thing. Indeed, the platter would have been meal enough for two, containing a large knuckle of pig, whose soft, gelatinous dark-pink flesh fell off the bone, a thick slice of ham, two kinds of sausages, a bread dumpling the size of a cricket ball and some pickled cabbage (sauerkraut). A basement restaurant with a low ceiling, the Delicatessen goes for lots of dark-stained woodwork. It has a large non-smoking area but offers only the dreaded paper napkins. Get snagged at the Delicatessen. Reggie The tasty meats, potato and sauerkraut all go well with a few pints of beer. The cheese hits your nose first in the cheese Krainer sausages ($96). The grilled Nuernberger sausages, slightly charred and made with spiced pork meat and the split pea soup ($45) were very satisfying and delicious. Vegetarians can try the grilled vegetarian lasagne ($88). Basement 1, Holiday Inn Golden Mile, 50 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui Tel: 2315 1020
