Lifestyle puts consumers on MPV highway
Seven-seaters and Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) are continuing to find favour with Hong Kong's value-conscious car-driving public. An example is Crown Motors' Toyota Picnic, which is its top-selling model in the passenger car market.
'Also, the demand for luxury MPVs is increasing, especially with the launch of the Toyota Alphard at the beginning of this year. Rounding out our model lineup, we offer the Toyota Previa as another choice of luxury MPVs for our customers,' said Crown Motors spokeswoman Susanna Wu.
MPVs now make up more than half of Toyota's passenger car sales at Crown Motors, with the Picnic comprising more than 20 per cent of that.
'As the economy continues to recover, many young people are considering smaller, more compact vehicles. Incorporating the latest automotive technology, Daihatsu products definitely appeal to a younger generation of drivers,' Ms Wu said.
The Daihatsu tailor-made turbo engine delivers an exhilarating driving experience for young people. The current selection includes hot models like the Mira Gino, Move Custom and Terios, as well as highly functional models like the (seven-seater) Atrai 7, with a built-in DVD system.
'Cars can also be easily personalised with a range of fun accessories to express individual character,' said Honest Motors marketing manager Joseph Goh. The company has been distributing Nissan vehicles in Hong Kong for 40 years and its market share for MPVs has been growing now for at least five years.
