Five HK teens top of the world in exam

They score highly in Cambridge University international tests

Five Hong Kong teenagers have received awards for getting the highest marks in the world for an international exam.

Their achievements were unveiled at a Brilliance in Hong Kong awards ceremony held yesterday by the University of Cambridge International Examinations board in Causeway Bay.

A total of 16 students were presented with certificates for scoring the best results in Hong Kong across 19 subjects in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), which is equivalent to the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination.

Natalie Kwan Yuk-kei, 16, a student at the French International School, notched up the top marks in the world across three subjects: English literature, geography and Latin.

Joseph Wong Wai-ho, of Island School, gained global top marks in design and technology. Shantayne Chan, of the German Swiss International School, won the accolade in economics, and Edith Chan Yee-heen of French International, in physics.
