City's 'Ayrton Senna' on underage sex charges
Racing car driver Michael Lui, the man dubbed Hong Kong's Ayrton Senna, was charged last night with indecent conduct towards a child under the age of 16 and unlawful sexual intercourse.
Lui, 43, was formally arrested in July after evidence was gathered during an anti-vice operation in Mongkok. Police raided several cybercafes in which underage girls were hired to serve customers and found evidence of suspected child prostitution.
Lui has been a racing icon for years. He won a big race in Macau in 1981 and since then has won a number of races around the world.
In recent years, he has often worked as a race commentator on television and radio. He will appear in Kowloon City Court on Monday.
