The Hilton Hotel in Dalian could be in need of a new name.
Hilton International yesterday placed a large advertisement in the China Daily declaring that it is no longer managing or responsible for the Hilton Dalian.
'Hilton wishes to inform its guests and suppliers that, as of October 3rd, it is no longer responsible for the operations of the hotel nor any actions carried out by the hotel (by whatever name it is called).'
A spokesman for Hilton's Singapore-based hotel management company said the Dalian hotel's 15-year contract - signed in 2000 - was under dispute.
He said the dispute had been put to arbitration in Chinese courts, but declined to elaborate.
The hotel's owner, Dalian Changjiang Plaza acknowledged that the case was in the courts but said that nothing had changed otherwise.
