STREET CARNIVAL

From today till Sunday, Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong's entertainment and  cuisine hub, will be filled with the rhythm of Latin dancers and family entertainment.

The three-day street carnival, now entering its third year, features more than 80 stalls including food booths selling roasted pork and crepes, and art booths selling crafts by local artists.

On Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon till late evening, Wo On Lane will be turned into a children's corner where jugglers and magicians will amuse kids with funny antics, balloon twisting and face painting.

PUNK SHOW

Prepare  yourself for an ear-splitting evening as local punk bands  belt out their original songs tomorrow.

The bands include King Ly Chee, Hardpack, 5 Disciplines, Attention to Piss, 218 and Milkshake 7.

The live gig, which starts at 6.30pm, will be kicked off with a skate video preview at 6pm.

The concert will be held  at YMMSS Shatin Integrated Centre for Youth Development (2/F, Ancillary Facility Block Yu Chui Court, Sha Tin). Tickets cost $30 at the door. For more details, visit attentiontopiss.hk.st

GERMAN FILM

My First Miracle, a film about the friendship between an 11-year-old girl and a middle-aged man, will be shown at the Hong Kong Arts Centre's Agnes b. Cinema on Sunday and October 24, at 5.30pm and 3pm respectively.

Set on the North Sea coast, the film begins with a young girl called Dole who meets Hermann, a happily married salesman. Despite the difference in their ages, they  become good friends.

The lyrical drama is the debut film by director Anne Wild which earned her the Max-Ophuels Award for the best film in 2003.
