THE elder brother of former Legislative Councillor Gilbert Leung Kam-ho will file an application to the High Court within two weeks in connection with charges he faces of incurring excessive election expenses, Kwun Tong Court was told yesterday.
Magistrate Crawford McKee adjourned the case until December 21 for mention.
Leung's lawyer, Herman Hui, refused to reveal details of the application. But the court heard that he would be making an application under Section 26 of the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Ordinance. It is expected to be heard in the High Court in December.
Leung Kam-chun, 45, is alleged to have incurred the expenses in respect of the candidacy of his brother in the Regional Council election in May 1991 when the defendant was an agent.
He has denied all three charges.
