Hong Kong institution Fook Lam Moon, which is renowned for using such luxury ingredients as bird's nest and abalone, is opening its first restaurant in China. Located in the Pudong Shangri-La, Fook Lam Moon, which also has restaurants in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, Tokyo and Osaka, is scheduled to open on Wednesday. The Shanghai arm will offer the same dishes as other Fook Lam Moon branches, including fried rice in lotus leaf (above right), deep-fried crispy chicken, braised whole abalone with fish maw and Chinese mushrooms, baked stuffed crab meat and onion in the shell (above left), and sweetened double-boiled bird's nest in whole fresh coconut (right).
