A PLUMBER who became a quadriplegic after falling three floors while fixing a leak is seeking worker's compensation of nearly $1 million. Neville Sarony QC, leading Michael Ozorio, told the District Court that his client, Ta Xoung, 33, was asked by the management of Shun Hing Building in Nathan Road to inspect a leak. Mr Ta, who is married with two children, was employed by Shun Cheong Electrical when the accident happened on February 21, 1991. The firm had claimed that Mr Ta did not fall in the course of his employment. The hearing is only to decide worker's compensation. A bigger damages claim is expected later.
