IT wasn't too long ago that Brian Mulroney vacated the post of Canadian PM to be succeeded by Kim Campbell (aka Madonna of Canadian politics). No one was quite sure what the future held for the shunned ex-premier. But in Hong Kong earlier this week, jowl-jawed Mulroney didn't look anything like a man ready as yet to ramble across the political wilderness. For two nights ago Mulroney was spotted at a discreet corner table at Grissini having lively discussions in French at a dinner party for six. And someone in the know who witnessed this cosy scene told us that at least two of Mulroney's dinner companions were former members of his political inner circle when he was in the seat of power. Which begs the question: Was it a political comeback that was being hatched over the angel hair pasta?
