Promotion to Division One beckons for the overall champions in today's Hong Kong and Kowloon Division Two inter-school swimming finals at Kowloon Park Pool.

The race for the titles is tight with just four points separating the top five girls' schools after day-one heats last week. Five points separate the leading five boys' schools.

In the girls' competition, the front-runners are St Mary's Canossian College, King George V School, Sacred Heart Canossian College (SHCC), West Island School and Canossa College.

Among boys, South Island School lead the way, followed by King's College, St Stephen's College, St Paul's College and West Island School.

SHCC are aiming for a special achievement. They could seal a second consecutive promotion, after their success in the Division Three (Hong Kong) competition last year.

One of the school's physical education teachers is confident the girls can do it.
