COMPELLING FILM

A film  that explores life's greatest uncertainty - death - will be screened on Thursday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 5.30pm at the Hong Kong Arts Centre's Agnes b Cinema.

Directed by Stefan Haupt, Facing Death is about Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, the author of the famous book  On Death and Dying, who is now in the twilight of her life.

The film looks back on her childhood  and her rise to fame as a lecturer and writer based in the United States. Tickets at $50 (adults) and $30 (students) are available from HK Ticketing on 31 288 288.

MULTIMEDIA SHOW

Amplified, a multimedia performance by Sal Vanilla - an all-male group from Japan -  will offer audiences a new theatrical experience.

The company's latest production depicts everyday urban life and desires. It combines body movements with video installations, digital images, and lighting and sound effects.

The performance will be staged from Friday to Saturday at 8pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre's Studio Theatre. Tickets at $150 and $100, with half-price concessions for students, can be obtained at Urbtix on 2734 9009.

GUITAR CLINIC

Rock 'n' roll guitarist Gary Hoey will host a guitar clinic tomorrow at 7.30pm at Wei Hing Theatre of the City University of Hong Kong.

Hoey will also give songwriting tips.

Tickets cost $40 for adults and $30 for Tom Lee's Music for Life members, and can be purchased from HK Ticketing.
