Political maverick 'Long Hair' Leung Kwok-hung is not only attracting greater media interest, his increased 'charisma' made him the number one search topic on the yahoo.hk search engine recently.

The newly elected legislator was the subject of 285 searches from October 4 to 10, and 473 during the election, beating pop duo Twins, who came in second with 144 searches.

A total of 892 websites have information relating to Leung. He topped Yahoo's search chart in three out of four weeks after his election, but before then, the veteran protester was nowhere on the list.

Leung's rise has also given a fillip to the T-shirt trade: his trademark Che Guevara T-shirts are now a hot item among Hong Kong teens.
