Veteran seeks new challenge
RAYMOND NG has worn many hats in the electronics/computer industry, but there is one he is still waiting to don: chief technology officer.
He has been working in the industry since the mid-1980s, working his way up from technician to regional information management (IM) manager.
At present, he is employed as technical consultant for Global Exchange Service (GXS).
He has been with GXS for eight years and is looking for a fresh challenge.
In his current position Mr Ng's responsibility is to implement electronic commerce solutions for the customers, a task which includes finding out what the customers want, co-ordinating projects and end-user training.
His area of expertise includes technical knowledge, experience in e-commerce technologies and the integration of different systems and applications.
He also has excellent time-management skills, is a good communicator and possesses sharp problem-solving and project management skills.
While with GXS, Mr Ng has also held the positions of regional IM manager and network specialist.
Mr Ng has a degree in applied computing from the Open University of Hong Kong, a BTEC national certificate in electronics, and a certificate in electronic engineering from the Kwun Tong Technical Institute.
