Snow in a can turns dangerous for boy

A 10-year-old boy  sustained facial burns while playing with snow spray when a friend ignited the artificial snow with a lighter.

At about 3pm yesterday, a security guard called police  after finding the injured boy in a playground in Fu Cheong Estate, Shamshuipo.

Police said the boy was playing with his friends  before the accident.

He was taken to Caritas Medical Centre in stable condition.

container Truck flip holds up traffic in mei foo

Traffic was temporarily disrupted in Mei Foo after a 12-metre container truck flipped over yesterday morning.

The truck turned on its side while negotiating a roundabout on Mei Ching Road near the container terminal at about 8am. The driver managed to climb out of the vehicle and was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was treated for head injuries.

man bashed by pair armed with stun gun

A 49-year-old man  sustained head injuries after being bashed by two men armed with a stun gun in Parkes Street, Yau Ma Tei, yesterday.

The attack happened at about 1am when the man was getting into his car.

The  assailants fled the scene but left the stun gun behind. A 44-year-old suspect was later arrested in nearby Temple Street.

13 injured in multi-vehicle accident in kowloon bay

Eight women and five men  were slightly hurt when a bus, a minibus and a car collided on Kwun Tong Road near the Kowloon Bay MTR station at about 10am yesterday.

The injured people - most of them passengers of the minibus - were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and United Christian Hospital for treatment.

It is understood the collision happened when the car ran into the back of the minibus, pushing in into bus.

man in hospital after blaze in his flat

A man was taken to hospital after his flat caught fire around dawn yesterday. The fire broke out shortly after 6am in the kitchen of a residential unit in Shung Ling Street, San Po Kong. It took firemen just over  10 minutes to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is not known.
