It's the bane of being a reporter to be inundated with banal press releases, but occasionally something amusing crops up, like this one below from artist Alexandre Charriol, son of luxury goods entrepreneur Philippe.
'By all indications, Alexandre is an unusual individual. Born to extraordinary parents Philippe and Annick Charriol, he led a privileged life and could have been groomed to take over the family empire,' the release said.
'Yet at age 17, he decided to dedicate his life to art. Alexandre learned that ... it was possible to paint without any rules, any boundaries and any limitations. When asked what moves him to paint, Alexandre replies: 'A constant inspiration is my sexual drive and exploits'.'
That's certainly the case if the painting you see here is anything to go by.
The release describes him as '[a] charming and handsome Franco-American artist' who 'has achieved a lot on his own merits'. His work will be featured at the Kee Club in Central on November 4 and at Art Statements Gallery from November 9 to 16.
