Following a successful Grade B competition last year, St Joseph's College are confident they have the skills to win the Hong Kong Division One Grade A title this season.

They take on Queen's College today at the Western Park Sports Centre, with both sides unbeaten in their two matches so far. The championship is heating up, and with each side only playing a total of seven games in the programme, every result counts.

Queen's, Hong Kong International School (HKIS) and Aberdeen Baptist Lui Ming Choi College are the sides rated as potential title challengers in the division. But St Joseph's feel they have the ability to take the honours.

'If we win this game, we can be the champions,' said St Joseph's sports master, Wu Wan-kwok.

'Queen's have some good players who also play in the local adult league. It is a crucial game for us. Hong Kong International School could also be strong although we haven't seen them play yet. They have also won their two matches so far. But they change their players from year to year so it is hard to know what to expect.

'HKIS coach Jerry Markin always produces well-organised teams. I would say Aberdeen are also among the top teams in the division. But I think we have a good chance.'

Players from St Joseph's title-winning Grade B team are now old enough to compete in Grade A.
