HK reports 28th dengue fever case
Updated at 5.46pm: The Health Department on Thursday confirmed another case of dengue fever in Hong Kong the 28th case this year.
The Centre for Health Protection said the latest imported case of dengue fever involved a 26-year-old man. The man who lives in Kwai Tsing, came down with fever, headache, muscle pain and a skin rash after a holiday in the Philippines from October 21 to 25.
He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on November 1, a spokesman said. He was in a stable condition on Thursday afternoon.
Twenty-eight cases of dengue fever were recorded in the territory this year. All are imported cases.
The spokesman urged the public to guard against dengue fever by avoiding mosquito bites and adopting measures to stop mosquitoes breeding.
