SOROS TANG knows an opportunity when he sees one, and the booming hotel industry in China is just that.
Recently back from Les Roches School of Hotel Management in Switzerland, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in hospitality, he now has his sights set on the mainland.
'There is great potential in the China [hospitality] market, and a lack of professionals in this area. Lots of hotels are opening up and the need for qualified staff is growing. In fact, in the past two years 10 new hotels have opened there,' he remarked.
Mr Tang also has an advanced certificate in marketing and a diploma in hotel management, which he earned while he was in Europe.
He has worked as a front office management trainee at the Hilton Shanghai, and as service trainee at the Ferienart Walliserhof in Switzerland.
Combining his academic and practical skills, he would like to break into the sales and marketing side of the hotel industry.
