A joint police and customs taskforce intercepted a mainland-bound cargo vessel carrying $5 million of smuggled goods in two containers. The seizure occurred on Thursday off Lung Kun Chau west of Hong Kong. The goods included 11 photographic development machines and 3,012 boxes of photographic paper and rolls of film. Eight mainland men aboard the vessel were released unconditionally after helping with inquiries, and the vessel resumed its trip to the mainland. A local trading company proprietor, who has left Hong Kong, is wanted in connection with the case.
