Come Out And Play, a three-CD compilation featuring 39 songs by local indie bands and musicians, is vivid proof that the local underground music scene is growing rapidly.

Released by indie record label 89268, the album features a wide variety of musical styles, including jazz, rock, hardcore, electronic, punk and folk.

Established names such as Gayamyan, The Pancakes, Ketchup and 22 Cats are featured alongside budding artists such as Subito and Weekend.

Weekend's Now & Forever is a soothing folk tune that is reminiscent of some of Simon and Garfunkel's best works, while Subito's debut single Black Coffee is a jazzy and atmospheric song for a relaxing Saturday night.

Other personal favourites include Wing Lo's Impolite, a catchy rock song which criticises our hypocritical attitude towards gender issues.

Tai Tau Fat's rock version of its cheerful ballad Tea Time is also a pleasant surprise.
