LIVE CONCERT

Taiwanese heart-throb Jay Chou Jie-lun will take centre stage at the Hong Kong Coliseum from tomorrow to November 15 at 8.15pm.

The singer-songwriter started playing piano at the age of three and has been writing songs for pop acts  including Coco Lee and Power Station from  the age of 16.

He rose to fame in 2000 with the release of his debut album Jay, which features a diverse range of styles including  R  & B, rap and pop. He is regarded as one of the most sought-after pop stars in Asia.

Tickets cost $400, $300, $200 and $100, and are available from Urbtix on 2734 9009.

PHOTO EXHIBITION

Early-bird photographer Cheung Chi-wai has  has spent almost a month capturing the  early morning faces of Yau Ma Tei and Mongkok.

His works are on display in Morning Glow - Tasting City Series Photo Exhibition until December 5 at Shanghai Street Artspace (404 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei). The exhibition also features photgraphs taken by students.

Admission is free from 11am to 8pm daily, except Monday and public holidays. For more information call 2770 2157.

ART DISPLAY

Pop Mix, the flagship exhibition of the Youth Arts Festival 2004, will  highlight the best art pieces from three previous shopping centre exhibitions.

The works  were  created by students who worked alongside professional visual artists through the Artists in Schools Programme. Their pop art-inspired pieces include repackaged cans, comics and a giant soft sculpture.

The exhibition opens tomorrow and runs till November 24 at the Hong Kong Arts Centre's Pao Gallery. Free admission from 10am to 8pm daily; 10am to 1pm on the last day.  Call 2877 2779.
