More than 100 ideas already put forward
More than 100 recommendations had been made in three different reports on the Sars outbreak before the Coroner's Court jury decided not to make any of its own.
The jury was told that even though it was entitled to make recommendations, detailed suggestions had already been made.
The setting up of a Centre for Health Protection was the main recommendation out of 46 from a government-appointed Sars expert committee in October last year.
The $500 million centre, with a mission to prevent and control diseases, opened in June this year.
The committee also suggested improving co-ordination and communication between the health department and Hospital Authority.
It said Hong Kong should build stronger collaboration within the Pearl River Delta and the international community on the notification of communicable diseases.
