To promote a sense of social responsibility and the concept of total wellness among students and staff, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is holding its first large-scale, on-campus Community Wellness Project.
Over the past 10 years, the PolyU Student Affairs Office has organised the Wellness in Action programme.
This year, it has been expanded in conjunction with the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and the Students' Union.
One of the highlights this year was last week's Community Services Day, during which free health screening services, stall games, exhibitions and performances were offered to the elderly.
The event aimed to promote the notion of wellness to the wider community through the joint effort of various health-related disciplines. More than 300 PolyU students and staff served 500 elderly and disabled people from different welfare organisations.
The Community Services Awards presentation ceremony was also held on the same day to recognise the students' achievements in community services.
