Born to an Australian father and Laotian mother, Ananda Everingham spent his early childhood in Australia and moved to Thailand when he was nine. At age 14, he was a 'naughty boy' who got kicked out of school. He worked at the family restaurant, mixing drinks behind the bar.
His father decided to send him to a boarding school in India. But then he was spotted by a talent scout who asked him if he wanted to go into acting. He signed the contract just to get out of his father's boarding school plans, and he's been acting ever since.
Everingham, who sometimes does modelling, is also a regular in Thai TV dramas and has starred in films such as last year's Kon Sung Phee (Ghost Delivery).
Shutter is his first big movie.
