FILM FESTIVAL

The fifth Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival is dedicated to unsung heroes,  both Jews and non-Jews, who risk their lives to help the oppressed.

The festival showcases 21 films and will run from tomorrow until November 28.

Kicking off the extravaganza (tomorrow, 7.30pm) is Zeyda and the Hitman, a comedy about a grumpy old man who hires a hitman to kill his son-in-law.

Another highlight is Unlikely Heroes (Sunday, 1pm), a documentary about  ordinary people who  stood up to the Nazis during the  Holocaust. Impact of Terror (Sunday, 3.30pm) consists of interviews with the survivors and the families of those who died in a bomb attack in Jerusalem three years ago.

All screenings will take place at the Cine-Art House in Wan Chai. Tickets cost $60 (adults) and $45 (students).  Bookings can be made from Cityline at 2111 5333. For more details,  visit www.hkjewish filmfest.org

EYE-CATCHING ADS

A programme features a selection of the best TV advertisements  from around the world.  The Art of Commercials  is being screened at the Hong Kong Arts Centre's Agnes b. Cinema  until December 7.  Tickets for each screening cost $40 (adults) and $25 (students), and are available from Urbtix at 2734 9009.

A seminar hosted by Marky Lo, creative director of BBDO Hong Kong, and Ng Fan, creative director of Ogilvy & Mather (HK), will take place tomorrow at 5pm. Admission is free. For reservations, call 2824 5329.
