HSBC has launched two equity-linked notes, each tied to a basket of Hong Kong-listed blue chips. The Eagle Putt Basket offers a guaranteed interest payment of 8 per cent after six months. An additional 8 per cent will be paid as long as every share in the equity basket is at or above its initial price. An additional exit bonus is also possible. 'The notes are linked to the market performance of some of Hong Kong's most dynamic companies,' said Frank Turley, head of HSBC's retail products group. The US dollar note requires a minimum investment of US$10,000, while the Hong Kong note requires $100,000.
