As Christmas presents go, ties are normally a pretty boring choice, often relegated to the back of the wardrobe by the time New Year comes around, along with other unimaginative gifts like handkerchiefs and slippers.
But you can be pretty sure that Serbian designer Neven Vrgoc's new line of Christmas cravats will maintain their appeal for considerably longer than neckties, particularly for very special, private engagements. That's because Vrgoc's ties are designed not to complement a man's favourite shirt, but something altogether more precious.
In the words of the internationally renowned designer: 'The ties are a special shape and do not go around the neck of the man, but around his member.'
Cityseen spoke to local fashion designer William Tang for his views on the latest fashion craze.
'I think there is a market [for penis ties] in Hong Kong,' he said. 'People could wear them on special occasions. It's quite surprising, actually, that no one really thinks about accessorising that area. Right now, some men have tattoos, but that's about it.'
Tang dodged the question of whether he would design a similar line of ties, or wear one himself, simply commenting: 'It would be fun. I don't think it's repulsive at all.
