Six months after opening, the Sands casino has picked a new top gun to lead the company in Macau.
Frank McFadden, chief operating officer of Casinos Austria International, will assume the role of chief operating officer of Venetian Macau next month, according to an internal memo obtained by the South China Morning Post.
The memo was addressed to all Sands staff, dated November 18. It was written by Garry Saunders, vice-president of international operations at Las Vegas Sands, parent company of the Venetian Macau.
Mr McFadden's appointment is the latest management reshuffle at Macau's most popular casino. A source within the Sands confirmed that Thuy Trinh, who was the top Macau-based leader when the Sands opened, would continue as chief operating officer of Sands, a position under Mr McFadden.
At least three of Mr Trinh's right-hand executives were fired in June for undisclosed reasons.
Mr Trinh's tenure in Macau started when the previous chief, David Mitchell, was sacked in September last year.
