Housewife found guilty of blackmail

A HOUSEWIFE and four men were found guilty by the District Court of blackmailing a doctor and claiming to be triad society members.

Housewife Sin Kam-fung, 30, construction worker Wan Kwok-yin, 33, newspaper vendor Leung Siu-wah, 35, insurance agent Lau Wai-keung, 22 and hawker Wu Wai-shiu, 25, will be sentenced by Judge Hartmann on November 1.

The court heard that the offences were committed against Dr Wong Po-chung in July and August last year.

Sin, who was Dr Wong's patient since December 24, 1991, borrowed $10,000 from him in April 1992.

Sin then demand more money from Dr Wong, threatening him with injury.
