Jing Ying cross-country champions Ng Hei-man and Cheung Man-ming will take on top runners from Guangdong, Macau and Fujian in a regional inter-port competition in Hong Kong this month.
The top-10 finishers in last weekend's All-Hong Kong (Jing Ying) race have been invited to represent the SAR in the December 18 event.
Hei-man and Man-ming won the girls' and boys' titles, respectively, in the Jing Ying championships. Both runners recorded superb times in their respective races at Tai Lam Country Park near Yuen Long.
Hei-man was 33 seconds clear of her nearest challenger, Tse Yin-ping, of Diocesan Girls' School. The Good Hope School student, who won the Nike Hong Kong junior 10k race recently, finished the hilly, 4.5km course in 20 minutes, 40.89 seconds. Joyce Cheung Ting-yan, of Kau Yan College, was third.
Man-ming, a student at CCC Kei Long College, retained the title he won last year. He finished the 7km race in 30 minutes, 49.14 seconds - 12 seconds ahead of Hong Kong triathlete, Ricco Chan Ye-ko, of La Salle College.
Lee Chak-kam, of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, was third, a repeat of last year's result.
