Hong Kong broke six championship records and won the overall title for both primary and secondary levels at last weekend's inter-port schools swimming competition in Macau. The SAR boys' and girls' teams won 30 gold, 22 silver and 8 bronze medals as they swept aside their rivals from Guangdong, Fujian, and Macau.
Top points scorers in the secondary boys' event included Wong Kai-wai from St Joseph's College, who won two gold medals in the 400-metre freestyle and 100m butterfly, Yan Ho-chun of Diocesan Boys' School, who won the 50m and 100m freestyle, and Kwok Ho-tin of CMA Secondary School, who came first in the 100m backstroke and third in the 200m breaststroke.
Among secondary girls, Lee Leong-kwai of Wa Ying College was first in the 50m and 100m freestyle, Ho Sin-wing from Jockey Club Ti-I College won gold in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, while both the medley and freestyle relay teams won.
