A light-fingered lad discovered the meaning of three strikes and you're out yesterday when he was arrested after allegedly shoplifting from the same Tseung Kwan O convenience store three times in as many days. Police said the 16-year-old was first suspected of stealing sweets and condoms worth $50 from the Circle-K store, near Choi Ming Court, when he entered with several youths on Saturday, but no arrests were made. The close call did not discourage him. He was arrested with four others at 1.30am on Sunday over the theft of $220 worth of goods from the store. They were freed on bail. Unbowed, the persistent teenager returned yesterday, this time with 10 youths, and was accused of assaulting the shop's manager, who chased the gang when he saw one stealing. Ten males and one female were arrested. The woman was released, but the others remained in custody last night.
