While Hong Kong can't offer us a snowy Christmas and New Year like countries further north, Cityplaza Ice Palace offers a near-equivalent, weather-wise, with parties on the ice starting next week.
A 200-strong team will perform daily at the Taikoo Shing rink from December 21 to 24. Coaches from the ice-skating school will perform a one-hour, specially choreographed show based on the nativity scene and biblical stories. The show will start daily at 6.30pm and will be free to the public.
Another 20 performances by ice-skating students will be run daily throughout the four-day event.
A 2005 countdown party, which includes a selection of games, more ice-skating performances and gifts, will start at 8pm on December 31. The party has a $40 entrance fee. Call 2844 8688 for details.
