Friendships between arch-enemies seem to be the craze now, at least in the cartoon world. Following in the wake of Shark Tale, the DreamWorks film about a shark and fish who team up, comes Brownie and Sesame, the story of a friendship between a cat and a mouse.
It's the work of animator Raman Hui, but don't expect the story on the silver screen any time soon. Instead, Brownie (a friendly alley cat) and Sesame (an energetic, outgoing mouse) were created by Hui for a charity book, a project brought to life with the help of skincare brand Kiehl's.
Proceeds generated from sales of the book were used to organise a festive feast for 200 children from the St Christopher's Home. The party was held at the Teddy Bear Kingdom in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday.
Hui became known worldwide as a character designer for the Oscar-winning Shrek, as well as working on other Hollywood movies such as The Arrival, Antz and Shrek 2. CitySeen was at the dinner and caught up with Hui, who is now working on Shrek 3. He told us 'I feel like Shrek's my best mate now!'
