Ticket to ride: a user's guide

It takes four minutes from Lowu station to Laojie in Dongmen - the most popular shopping area for Hong Kong visitors - and 15 minutes to the Shenzhen Exhibition Centre.

From Lowu to the Window of the World station it will take about 35 minutes.

The Shenzhen Metro will only accept yuan. Hong Kong Octopus cards cannot be used. Fares range from 2 to 5 yuan.

Tickets expire if passengers stay on the metro for more than two hours.

Students, the elderly and disabled receive a 50 per cent discount.

Lost tickets are subject to a 10-yuan compensation fee.
