Performance makes up for unclear plot

So far, this year's City Fringe festival has featured a long line-up of Australian singer-comedians.

The latest to take the stage is Max Sharam and her multimedia, one-woman show that enacts the demise of an unnamed failed opera singer.

Sharam's character turns to alcohol, falls foul of the law and pays the penalty, but fails to clean up her act.

It is handy to know the plot at the onset, as it is only spelled out immediately before the end.
