Fashion lovers should ditch their boring dark tones and embrace a more colourful world in the coming spring-summer season, says a style guru.
'It is very important,' said Mary Chan Yan-yan. 'Spring is a refreshing season and we need colours that give an energetic look.'
Ms Chan, head of StyleCENTRAL - the agent for Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand for fashion consultant Peclers Paris - was speaking at a Hong Kong Fashion Week seminar on future trends.
She said those who preferred a vintage look might consider getting a suit jacket tailor-made.
'It doesn't have to be the whole suit or look formal. Wear it with a feminine blouse,' she said.
Ms Chan also advised Hong Kong fashion buyers to be more flexible when buying. 'They only buy products they feel like buying [without considering what the market needs],' she said. 'They think that Hong Kong people are petite so they keep importing small sizes. Now that Asians do have bigger frames, they should think of a way to improve the turnover.'
