The Jockey Club Ti-I College (Ti-I) girls' football team, inspired by a brilliant performance from their goalkeeper Wong Wai-chi, retained the inter-school title for the fifth straight year. Ti-I extended their remarkable domination of this seven-a-side competition following victory in a dramatic penalty shoot-out against YCH Tung Chi Ying Memorial Secondary School (TCY) last Sunday. The final, at Tsing Yi Park, saw the two Sha Tin institutions battle through a 0-0 stalemate, before Ti-I finally triumphed 4-3 in the shoot-out. Wai-chi saved three penalties in the nail-biting finale. 'Their goalkeeper won it for them,' said disappointed TCY coach Hilda Tam Suet-fong, who saw her side lose the final in similar circumstances last year. 'She was very influential. It was very difficult for us to score. Her performance gave the other Ti-I players a lot of confidence. They stopped our key players and we couldn't perform to our best. It was a surprise result. We really expected to win.'
