DECADES after starring as Lashman in martial arts movies and operas, Kwan Tak-hing still wields his whip with expert hands. However, with the new millennium almost upon us Kwan has decided, for posterity's sake, to donate his old prop to the Collection Campaign on New Territories Relics. Since its launch last March, 156 people have donated relics or provided historical information, and it is expected more than 5,000 antique items will be collected through the campaign, organised by the Heung Yee Kuk and the Regional Council. After the relics have been collated and examined they will be exhibited in Regional Council museums in the territory, the ultimate goal being to put them on permanent display at the planned Heritage Museum.
