Hong Kong finished unbeaten on the first day at the Darwin Sevens after defeating Tindall Lions 54-0, Casuarina 22-7 and Northern Territory Development 19-7.

Rowan Varty was the leading try-scorer with four tries while Andrew Chambers and Paul Morehu each scored twice.
