Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa will be too busy to appear at another Legco question time tomorrow, his office said yesterday.

But he will meet legislators in groups for closed-door talks over the next few weeks, with the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong first on the list.

Mr Tung will meet DAB lawmakers this morning, followed by the labour sector and The Alliance, before ending his day with a speech at the official opening of Langham Place in Mongkok in the evening. The Liberal Party will meet Mr Tung tomorrow morning.

However, the Chief Executive's Office refused to disclose Mr Tung's activities for tomorrow afternoon. 'Mr Tung's schedule is very packed on Wednesday,' a spokeswoman said.

Pressure has been growing for the chief executive to appear at a question time after he shied away from post-policy address radio phone-in programmes last week.

Legco's House Committee last week demanded another question time before a four-day session to debate the address, which starts tomorrow. The committee said some members had not been given a chance to raise questions during the session with Mr Tung on January 13.
