The Buildings Department is investigating the toilet woes of women, who complain they face longer queues than men because of a lack of cubicles.

A spokesman said the results of the study, part of a review of the design of the sewerage system, were expected to be released this year.
The Hong Kong Women's Coalition on Equal Opportunity in 2002 cited the shortage of women's toilets as evidence of the government's lack of sensitivity to people's needs.
Of 843 female respondents to a coalition survey, 54 per cent complained there were not enough cubicles in women's toilets. The coalition said women's toilets should offer more cubicles as women took more time to use them than men.
