In a city where the motto on the street is 'any excuse for a party', nightclubs are coming up with new ways to keep the crowd happy. JJ's and Greenspot were the old school choices for celebrities in the mood to boogie to live music, but their demise led to new nightclubs vying to be the new 'it' spot for celebrity sightings.
Now the newest thing to hit the dance floor, the Veuve Clicquot party concept, is causing a bit of a hype before its launch. Dubbed Club Clicquot, organisers are mixing internationally famous DJs with fine champagne; add funky decorations from Jean Paul Gaultier, slap on a 'member's only' venue and you've got yourselves the kind of party Teresa Cheung Siu-wai said she'll fly back to town for. Club Clicquot plans to throw about five such parties this year at the Kee Club. This Saturday, Parisien DJ Gregory (right) will be the master of the beats, but the clubbing crowd can look forward to even bigger names such as Richard Dorfmeister (of Kruder & Dorfmeister) and Bob Sinclair at future parties.
