The world's shortest woman - 21-year-old Zhu Haizhen - is greeted by staff at a hospital in Nanjing , where she arrived this week for therapy aimed at increasing her height and helping her to walk better.
Ms Zhu, from Gaoan in Jiangxi province , is 79cm tall and weighs 10kg.
She has been accompanied to Gu Lou Hospital by her grandmother, Hu Liying, who has taken care of Ms Zhu since she was abandoned by her parents 20 years ago.
Ms Hu said she had spent more than 60,000 yuan seeking treatment for her granddaughter over the past few years to no avail.
'Her parents did not want her. I was heartbroken just to look at her. After all, she's my granddaughter. I let her stay with me,' she said.
Ms Zhu had the intelligence level of a two-year-old, Ms Hu added.
