Where? Near the seaside town of Naantali, on the Turku archipelago of southwest Finland. It's not far from the official summer residence of the Finnish president.
What's so special about it? Anchored in the bay at the front of the spa building is the Sunborn Princess Yacht Hotel wing, a custom-built, floating 140-room yacht hotel - minus the engine, but complete with auditorium, saunas, bar and restaurant. The yacht is connected to the spa and the rest of the hotel by an indoor walkway, meaning you can stroll to all the facilities in your bathrobe. It's like being on a cruise, but with the freedom to jump ship if you're bored.
What is there to do? Relax and unwind. Since the 18th century, Naantali has been known as Finland's best spa town. Set along the road once travelled by royalty from Sweden to Russia, the hotel offers an extensive menu of relaxing, therapeutic treatments, including clay packs, water therapies and classic massages. Doctors are on hand to recommend treatments for minor ailments.
Tell us more: The spa's new Aqua Therapies department offers enticing treats such as Arctic, Cleopatra and Crystal baths. Laze in a Cleopatra bath of milk and honey or brave the cold but energising Arctic Bath. Or double the fun with a bath for two.
What about the rooms? The property comprises three hotels (Spa, Suite and Sunborn Princess Yacht) with a total of 360 rooms and suites. Those aboard the yacht, naturally, come with water views, and balconies. All suites are luxurious, although the bathrooms are a tight squeeze. The two Royal Suites have private saunas and jacuzzis overlooking the bay.
What's on the menu? There are five restaurants, a wine cellar, cafe and bars. The Sunborn restaurant serves modern European cuisine, and for Euro70 euros ($700) the chef will dish up a special six-course surprise menu.
