Being Chinese

What's it like to be Chinese at the University of Pennsylvania?

To be honest, I don't notice it.

Some students occasionally ask me if I've ever eaten a dog or if I speak Japanese, but that's about it.

There are more than enough Asian students at my university so my yellow skin and black hair are nothing special.

But maybe my comfort with the situation is related to my upbringing.

I spent most of my academic career in an international environment - first in Canada, then at an international school in Hong Kong.
