Sharp promises rich, vivid images to users of its new XV-Z2000 Hi-Vision Home Theatre Projector. Available this month, the Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology-based projector combines a high resolution of 1,280x720 pixels with a 274-watt lamp and 1:1.5 short focal length lenses so users can enjoy 100-inch pictures with lifelike colours even in rooms as small as 3.5 square metres. DLP systems yield, in principle, film-like images with high contrast and little colour unevenness. When the XV-Z2000 is mounted on the ceiling, the motorised zoom lens allows you to adjust the screen size and focus with the remote control.
