Bill Clinton last night announced a whistle-stop visit to Hong Kong to sign copies of his memoir.
The former US president will appear for two hours at the Kelly and Walsh book store in Pacific Place, Admiralty, as part of a half-day stay on Tuesday.
The stopover will follow Mr Clinton's trip to the Indonesian province of Aceh with his predecessor in the Oval Office, George Bush senior. The pair were appointed by President George W. Bush to head private fund-raising efforts for victims of the Boxing Day tsunami.
A limited number of $280 tickets - which includes a copy of Mr Clinton's memoir, My Life - will be sold from today at the Swindon Book store, Lock Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, the Hong Kong Book Centre in Des Voeux Road, Central, and the Pacific Place Kelly and Walsh store.
Mr Clinton will sign books from 6pm before heading to the mainland, Seoul and Tokyo for more promotions.
Swindon staff said Mr Clinton's handlers unexpectedly called on Tuesday to ask if the event could be arranged. Nothing was confirmed until about 6.30 last night.
