An award-winning, global public relations consultancy, known for its stellar client service, wants to recruit a replacement public relations (PR) client service manager. Fleishman-Hillard (FH) offers strategic communications advice to local, national and international clients, including many of the world's most respected brands. Media Magazine named FH last year's PR winner of the coveted Gold Award for Asia-Pacific Network of the Year, for demonstrating extraordinary growth, strong inter-office co-operation, public relations innovation and high retention of clients and staff. 'This job is about excellent client service and smart communications counsel,' said Nancy Payne, general manager, senior vice-president and partner at FH Hong Kong. The new incumbent should expect to be highly responsive to client needs and have a strong grasp of budget management and communication. 'Other specific duties include writing and researching client documentation, such as strategic plans, new business proposals, contact reports and monthly, quarterly and annual reports,' she said. 'The job requires the ability to promote and sell story ideas and press releases to journalists in major international, local and trade media outlets. Supervising junior staff and providing quality control is also important.' This role provides the opportunity to work with some of the best name brands in the corporate and financial communications industries. 'The Fleishman-Hillard team operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where there is unlimited potential for continuous learning and growth,' Ms Payne said. Candidates should have at least seven to eight years' corporate and financial communications experience. A communications agency background is a plus. 'We're looking for an in-depth understanding of financial communications activities, markets and products, and a proven understanding of the Hong Kong and Asia-Pacific media environments,' Ms Payne said. While people choosing a career in public relations are typically energetic self-starters who know how to solve problems, FH is also looking for proven client counsellors and team leaders who possess excellent writing, presentation and multilingual skills. Whoever makes the grade will reap rich rewards, including twice-yearly promotion opportunities and regional and international network assignments, open to select staff wishing to develop their management and client-service skills. The company also offers a bi-weekly training programme featuring internal and external presenters from Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe.
